About US

Company History

At our inception in 1998, the Tandus Centiva Extrusion corporate office and manufacturing facility was known as Ideal Fibers. The original proprietors sought to fill a niche in the industry by creating high quality fibers delivered with dependable customer service. Ideal Fibers quickly attracted a steady customer base and began growing.

After only a few months of operation, Ideal Fibers was purchased by the Dixie Group. Between 1998 and 2002, the company, now known as Candlewick Extrusion, increased its production capacity to 30 million pounds per year.

In 2002, world renowned carpet manufacturer, Tandus, purchased Candlewick Extrusion from the Dixie Group. Candlewick Extrusion became Tandus Centiva Extrusion (Collins & Aikman Fiber Extrusion), as it is known today.

Since 2002, we have worked diligently to diversify our product offerings to meet the changing tastes and demands of carpet and textile manufacturers and consumers. For instance, we were a leading innovator in the development of solution dyed polyester, which offers residential customers a more resilient carpet without sacrificing its luxurious look and feel.

From the outset, our mission has been to offer the very best in customer service, which is why we have experienced continued growth over the past 10 years. Tandus Centiva Extrusion Vice President, Marion Smith, looks forward to many more years of innovation, growth and service. He recently commented, "As long as we continue to deliver a better product and service, we will remain a leader in the industry."
